Two Endcap Signs

My Mermaid just came down recently. She was selling Shredded Wheat. They moved the Shredded Wheat to a small end. Now I will paint to black all of the Shredded Wheat info so she'll be ready for the next appropriate product. That's Lemmie our Lobster. Find Lemmie and win a sweet treat. She is part of my library of signs.

The flamingo surfer dudes have been up a couple of times for Pink Lemonade and Joe's O's and now for Longboard Tortilla Chips! Perfect!

Hope you're having a great weekend.

Woody in the Clouds

We are revisiting the Woody I did last fall today because now he is in the clouds.
Our Muralist Victoria Nelson has been painting clouds above the wood paneling on all of the walls where it was still plain yellow. It looks very pretty and frames my Woody art quite nicely. It is painted on a masonite panel about 4' x 8'ish.
Captain Jeff did the panel cutting with his handy dandy router saw thingy.
The Sign Artists from the Decater Store are Foam Core Goddesses
and they very kindly gave Graham and I a quick lesson in cutting
letters. This was my first experience with cutting foam core into anything and heck working on such a huge painting too.

My Fresh Bread Sign

The Fresh Bread sign is hanging over the One Day Breads and is the first thing you see when you come in the store. It is made entirely of foam core, well except for the 3 D bread the parrot is holding (secret invention).
It is 4' wide and a 4 1/2 ish feet tall. The foam core we get is so great, it's 4' x 8'
and such a reasonable price it's shocking.
I made it double sided.

I didn't think to take photos of the progress, the wings are three layers and the Fresh Daily are cut, foam core also and painted to look like fresh bread.
It was a fun one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Oktoberfest Girl Sketch on the Blackboard

This is my sketch of the JosephsBrau Oktoberfest girl.

We all like how she turned out.
I got a little further with it but since the beer won't be in until Tuesday
I'm working on a more urgent project and will finish this one in a few days.

Holy Cow-a-Moly It's Been a Long Time!

I have a gazillion new photos of signs to add, which I will do promptly tomorrow.
Until then here is what I've been working on at home.

"I Like Me Some Trader Joe's"

You can find this ACEO on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150287617924&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005

"Mmmm Where Trader Joe's?"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150287900235&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005

"Mmm JoJo's"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150287909764&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005

"I like Me Some Trader Joe's Too"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150287907151&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005

All of these tiny pieces of art are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Painted on Arches 140 lb cold press watercolor paper.

They are called ACEO's Art Card Editions and Originals
and were developed as a catagory on eBay by the many fine eBay Artists.
They are fun, Baseball card size art. Just type ACEO in the search on eBay and you'll be amazed at the huge varity!

These also come in darned handy as small studies for larger pieces and maybe EndCap designs.

I'm working on a Oktoberfest and Hopfest Endcap.
The sketch is great both here and on the board.
I'll keep you posted how the finished sign comes out.

Thanks!
